Internet Explorer   Fine-tune Internet access speed Accessing the Internet has to go through a process called DNS resolution. DNS stands for Domain Name Service. Even though XP does a find job of handling DNS resolution, you will get better speed by increasing the DNS cache size.

To do this, add the following entries in registry. Save what is written below in a file say “dnstuning.reg” fi le and import it in the registry by opening the registry editor and going to import option from the top menu.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\Services\

Dnscache\Parameters]

“CacheHashTableBucketSize”=dword:000 00001

“CacheHashTableSize”=dword:00000180

“MaxCacheEntryTtlLimit”=dword:0000fa 00

“MaxSOACacheEntryTtlLimit”=dword:000 0012d
