When you try to reactivate it by pressing the ‘Start’ button, windows gives out an error message saying ‘Folder is not empty’ How then can you use this function to do a backup, if you do not find the function in the windows system?

The usual cause for system restore to e missing is that there is a corrupted file in the ‘System Volume Information’ folder which is sitting in the ‘Drive Letter’.

system restore

To resolve this problem, you will need to process it from the highest ’Drive Letter’ first. hence.

If you have ‘C’, ‘D’, and ‘E’ drives, you should start with drive ‘E’ first.

Change the name of the ‘System Volume Information’ by right clicking on the folder in drive’ E’

Then right click on drive ‘E’ and select the ‘Rename’ function.

Change it’s name into ‘System Volume Info’.

Do the same to the rest of the drives.

Then ‘Restart’ your computer. when the system is up

After the second restart, you will see ‘My computer –> Properties’ again. Now, the ‘System Restore’ tab is back on and ready for use again.
