1. You can close a window that is maximized by placing your mouse at the UPPER MOST LEFT CORNER of the window and DOUBLE CLICK. (opposite to close button side)

ie. if you want to close my computer “MAXIMIZED” just place your mouse at the UPPER MOST LEFT CORNER and DOUBLE CLICK your mouse. WOW, window closes

2. To know about what are all the tasks going on, jus type the following command in command prompt “tasklist” you can get all the details in taskmanager.
